At this year’s E3, Sony boasted some kick-ass displays with full 3D support. Wouldn’t mind this particular piece of grand proportions in my living room, if only it would fit.

Especially pleasing about the new hardware, is the equally bad-ass software that runs on it. You might have heard about it before, and if not, rest assured you will be hearing plenty in the months to come…

Some Coldwoodians went south to attend the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 release party. The red carpet had been rolled out and we made the most of it. Awesome party, awesome game – make sure to grab a copy!

Sony just announced our new game at the GDC show in San Francisco! Everything is still very, very far from finished, but we’re all super excited to see it in public for the first time.

The game is called Dukes (over here in Europe, the rest of the world call it Motion Fighter for now) and it’s a nice little fighting game, using really high tech physics based animation, and state of the art motion controls. We’ve been secretly tinkering with this little gem for quite some time, but now production is in full swing on a really impressive scale, and we’re set for a fall release alongside the shiny new PlayStation Move controllers. It’s great to see the game announced with so much flair, but one of the best parts of finally sharing this secret is that there are still so many more secrets left to reveal. We look forward to it, and we sincerely hope everyone will enjoy the game. It has been a great trip so far, and we’re sure it can only get better.

Coldwood goes to Paris

We sent a little delegation down to Paris a few weeks back. We paid a visit to Quantic Dream’s studio there, to record some motion capture for our upcoming (but still unnamed) fighting game. Quantic are the guys behind the game Heavy Rain, which is really cool, so we made sure to sneak a little peek behind the scenes when we weren’t busy making our poor stunt man throw himself into walls. It was a great week, and we recorded over 300 new animations for the game, so there’ll be lots of nice new stuff to play with soon..

We also found time to see some of the must-see sights, and sample some french brasseries, and take a far too quick tour of the Louvre where we found a mummy that looks just like Rufus, our office dog… Weird. And of course we got to experience another famous french specialty, when the flight controllers decided to go on strike while we were heading back home.
